12 Refreshing and healthy cocktails

Summer is here and most of us are excited to hit the pool, cocktail in hand. It’s time for BBQs, pool parties, beach bonfires, or other summer themed parties.

Healthy and alcohol don’t really¬†mix. In fact, alcohol is actually poison to your body. If you’re trying to lost weight, that nightly glass of wine or beer stops any fat burning your body might be doing for up to 24 hours.

But if you really want to indulge, here’s a list of 12 healthy-ish cocktails from City Nights Disco.

At the top of the list is a light bloody mary. It clocks in at 118 calories using no sugar added, low sodium tomato juice. Squeeze in half a lemon, a dash of Worcestershire, hot sauce and one shot of vodka.

Next in line is a fruit mojito. It’s about 240 calories and consists of muddled mint leaves, juice of half a lime, simple syrup, ice cubes, fresh or frozen fruit like blueberries, strawberries, mango or kiwi. Top with rum and seltzer.

Third place goes to the sea breeze. Pour in one shot vodka, cranberry juice, and fresh squeezed grapefruit juice over ice. Top with seltzer and drink up!
