United States Robbery and Burglary Statistics and Facts

We all watch the news and see movies that highlight robberies and break ins, but how bad is it? What are the facts about burglaries and robberies in the United States? Since we know you’ve just been dying to know, you can rest easy. This infographic from My Protection Link is here to answer your questions. To get straight to the point, a burglary happens every 14.4 seconds in the United states. Think of it this way, while watching TV, during your average commercial break, 8 houses have been burgled! In one hour there are 250 burglaries in the United States but only 62.5 in the UK and 22.72 in Canada (granted these countries have a significantly smaller population than the US). This comes out to more than $4.78 Billion in total losses. To put that in perspective, this is more than the individual profits of Band of America, AT&T, Target, Boeing, Verizon, Best Buy, Comcast, or The Home Depot. Interestingly, the south has the highest burglary rates wile the north east has the lowest burglary rates.
